But they also understood our needs as a charity, the components that make up our data warehouse come partly from Microsoft, partly from other companies like Civica and Simpson Associates provided the glue to help us bring those together and get the best out of them.

Simpson Associates was dedicated to matching our brief, There was healthy debate of course but they always presented reasoned responses, or accommodated our wishes when needed. It’s a very flexible relationship and the synergy we’ve built is vital to the knowledge transfer process.

When looking at a solution to our redaction demands, we were keen not to incorporate a standalone point solution. RedactXpert stood out as its built on Microsoft Azure, and we particularly liked how Simpson Associates’ development of the software was done in close collaboration with Microsoft. Having already invested heavily in Microsoft technology, we wanted a solution that would work seamlessly across that environment. Not only does it benefit the teams needing to maintain and support the systems, but ensures a more user friendly and accessible platform for those officers using it.

Our ambition was to build a foundational data and AI platform that not only delivered immediate value but also enabled us to support and evolve sector-leading capabilities, skills, and confidence across the entire organisation.

At the Wildlife Trusts, having a solid, fit for purpose and secure data platform to underpin our data ambitions and strategy is essential for helping us tackle shared challenges as a federation and respond to new opportunities.

We used to spend 90% of our time building reports, with only 10% of the time to make decisions based on the output. We often had conflicting reports and competing datasets.
